Wonder who I am, where I came from, and why I love food so much?

Coming from two backgrounds– in both of which food is love and family time is spent primarily in the kitchen or around the table–  it would have been impossible not to. The women and the men in my family all cook, and they have to to get all that food on the table. My grandparents have been growing their own food, canning, and preserving before it was cool. I love to tell them about all the things people pay big money for in London and New York that they think of as just food. And that they could probably make money charging people to come sit around and shell peas with them in the summer time.

I didn’t eat out at restaurants much growing up (and really, the food was better at home anyway), but I seem to be making up for it now. Good thing my parents made sure I knew my manners.
